1988 Mitsubishi Other LS

Mitsubishi Other LS (1988)
for sale

Price: US $200.00

Description:

I bought this top of the line Mitsubishi in 1988, brand new from the local Mitsubishi dealer on Long Island, NY. It's been on the road all that time. A family car, driven at least every week, year round. It has 135, 000 original miles. It had a Valve Job @ about 65, 000 miles to make it new again. Its Always been maintained and loved.
Comes with:All Service, Maintenance, Parts & work records - Bills / Receipts, etc. Gas & mileage records from about the 8th tank of gas.Original Option/Price Window sticker, Original Owners/Maintenance manual in original vinyl case, dealer brochure & the dealers 'Cassette tape of use & features' - all in great condition (maintenance booklet is written in for work done), Original Dealer MITSUBISHI Floor mats (You may think they have seen better days. Drivers side has a warn spot where my heal has been going for 27 years), Original Service/Repair Manual set, Original Stainless Steel exhaust system (except for a replacement catalytic converter - wouldn't pass NYS inspection without its replacement a few years back), I have the original stereo cassette system in the garage - I'll include it. The last few years I have only put about 1, 000 miles or less a year on it - the family has grown up and has moved out - so its time to get rid of it.It still runs and handles like the day I got it. Some items of work done in the last few years (2, 500 miles?) were:New Brake pads, New Brake line, New Rotors, New Starter, New Shock absorbers all around, New Timing Belt(s), New Alternator & belt, New Battery, New Water Pump & thermostat, Newly custom painted, original aluminum alloy wheels (including the spare), tires, and the usual things: spark plugs, oil changes, hoses as needed, etc.OK, now for the bad stuff:The sliding door has two ball bearing rollers that are like little plastic wheels, in the center. One has the plastic missing from it, but the door still rolls very well. The front seats are not torn - but the two-tone stripes are getting very thin in places (the upholstery underneath them is still strong.) The rear seats have VERY good original upholstery too. (The top seam between the 'trunk side' vinyl and seat fabric on the rear seat has been sewed back together. The vinyl has a few tears in it from use while folded down.)There is an Oil leak. I think it is the seal for the oil pump. I have to add oil to the crankcase every other tank of gas or so. (There is an idiot light to remind you when it needs oil. It does drip in the driveway after its been running - but stops after the engine is cooled down/not running.)Odometer stopped working, but the trip odometer portion still allows for accurate mileage records for maintenance intervals & figuring MPG.And I know I already mentioned the AC, Cruse control, paint & rust, somewhere in this listing. See attached photos. I tried to show all the bad things.Other things:I disconnected the seatbelt/key buzzer - but it should still work if put back in.The rear wiper system has been updated with a delay setting. No cracks on the dash - but a GPS mount was put on with Elmers glue. You can remove it if you like.It is mostly original paint and still has a shine to it.There is a small stone chip in the windshield where it doesn't get in the way (behind rear view mirror.)
I'll hate to see it go. It was the first car I had ever bought brand new ($18, 000 brand new, ) But all good things must come to and end at some point.

“The original "R12" AC is still attached, but not functioning - belt is also removed from it.The original Cruse Control has been disconnected, due to the malfunctioning servo.Front bumper has a crack on the right side, below where that little front 'quarter panel' is also damaged. (A chunk of the bumper broke off and was screwed back on.)The paints 'Clearcoat' is starting to peel in a few areas where some sections were repainted 20 or so years ago. Minimal rust for its age. Some was repaired a few years back, but it's getting old again. Car is still solid.Had been hit by a deer 20 years ago. Some bondo is showing near windshield where the repair was made.”
