1960 Nash Metropolitan
This is a very rare vehicle to find, especially in this condition. The Metropolitan is a good thing in a small package. Getting behind the wheel of this car you are rewarded with a 0–60 miles per hour acceleration time of nearly 30 seconds. The Met is reasonably light at approximately 1800 pounds, but that weight is squared off against 42 horsepower.
Interior:
The all black vinyl seats with white vinyl tops set a very classic style. The interior is in fantastic condition. The dash is simple with a factory speedometer and just below an aftermarket temperature gauge to ensure the engine is at safe operating temperature.
Exterior:
The all black exterior gives the car a beautiful shine. The original chrome Nash hubcaps contrast well with the deep black paint. The red M in the center of the hubcaps is a cool bit of flair and matches the red vinyl striping along the side of the car. The paint is in good condition and shines up well. There are a few nicks here an there which is to be expected of a car this age.
Drivetrain:
The inline 4 cylinder is a work of art. Producing 42 horsepower it gets this car cruising. Let’s just say it’s in no rush. The power is transferred through a 3 speed manual transmission on the column. The engine runs smooth with no smoke or unusual noises. The transmission shifts smooth throughout all three gears.
