Up for sale today is a really cool little wagon. It is a 1955 Nash Rambler. It is kind of a low production rare body style that was designed by the famous designer for Ferrari- Pinin Farina. It is the Rambler Custom Cross Country edition. It has been completely restored/customized in the past couple of years. It comes with a good Ohio title, in my name. It was built to be a daily driver. The wagon originated in Arizona, so it had a rust free body to begin with. It originally had 48, 000 miles on it. It then came here to Ohio and sat in storage for several years. It was an older lady's car, and had a few minor scuffs on it when we got it but other than that it started out as a very nice survivor. Some of the work done to it first started with the engine. The original motor was on its last leg, so I found a better, more modern version, to put in it. It is a later model 195.6 cu. in. engine out of a 1960 Rambler. It is still the flathead 6. It was completely rebuilt. New pistons, new Clay Smith cam, bored .030 over, new lifters, hardened valve seats, a turned and balance crank, ect. A new Pertronix electronic ignition was installed in the distributor. On top of the motor sits an original finned aluminum Edmunds head with 2x2 intake. Two newly rebuilt original carbs have had electric chokes installed and topped with finned aluminum air cleaners. The engine is backed with a custom adapted t-5 out of a 90's S-10 pickup with new clutch and pressure plate. The rear end is also out of the same s-10. The whole car has now been converted to 12 volt system. All the lights and gauges work correctly. The speedometer was linked to a special convertor system to dial in the correct speed with the t-5 trans. To cool the car, the original radiator was re-cored and at the same time, the gas tank was boiled and re-lined. All the brakes on the car are new, along with new lines and now sports a dual mastercylinder. The car rides on a new set of tires, 195-65-r15 and 215-70-r15 with new Vintique 15 steelie wheels, with new stainless trim rings and custom vinal graphics on the new hubcaps. Some of the paint on the car is still original. The bottom half of the car had to be repainted in order to fix some minor scrapes and dents. Afterward all of the chrome, except for the grill, was sent out for chroming. Also, the car includes some very rare accessory items, including the flying lady on the hood, the splash guard on the gas tank, and some bumper guards. On the inside of the car, it was completely gutted and received a full custom interior. From the new headliner, to the custom basket weaving design on the seats, it was all modeled after the original designs from Farina. Overall this would make someone a very nice daily driver, or cruise up and down the beach coast with it. The car has been driven on several trips including 6 hours to louisville nationals last year in KY, or a couple times to Goodguys in Columbus, Ohio, and it performed like a new car. If you have any questions, or would like to come take it for a drive, send me a PM or give me a call at 330 715 3892 and ask for Paul . thanks
