Much like the quality vehicles you have come to see from us, and yet again, we found another diamond in the rough. These cars are usually privately owned, and/or end up in dealerships where we have direct connections / established relationships with to purchase directly from. When we consider purchasing a Skyline with our own capital, we try to learn more about its history such as: Who owned it last, where has it been and why is it up for sale. We do not go after auction specials primarily because a majority of the cars are purposefully misrepresented for the pure benefit for the seller / auction house. Furthermore, we do not rely on some 3rd party auto-broker to search for our vehicles through auctions, instead, we do take the time to fly to Japan monthly to hand-pick our fresh crop of vehicles for importation stateside as you can clearly see from our Facebook vehicle history.
Each car we purchase from Japan has documentation to prove its genuineness, and each car goes through inspection personally by us. We not only buy these cars, but we are also owners and extremely passionate about them thus giving our first-hand experience.
Once our office staff locates a car, we fly to Japan monthly to examine each vehicle set-aside for the following inspections:
[1] Overall exterior condition.
[2] Overall interior condition.
[3] Engine / drive train condition - Compression testing / Leak-down.
[4] Verification of history to vehicle through Nissan Corporation in Tokyo.
[5] Verification of history to vehicle through Japan Automobile Appraisal Association.
[6] Verification through vehicle history records and service documentation.
[7] Speaking directly with seller and obtaining more history about the history with the vehicle.
All of the above is taken into consideration before we purchase a vehicle because at the end of the day, we are also Skyline owners and want nothing but the best to purchase for resale in the U.S. commerce. We know if we provide you with a quality automobile, that you, our valued customer, will undoubtedly help to spread via word-of-mouth to others how we are and how we search for quality cars in a sea of beat to hell, defective, high mileage rust buckets. We do not purchase cars from auctions that sell for cheap and then end up replacing parts to restore like some other importers in-and-around the southern California and throughout the US area, then resale for $15k more. Everything on this vehicle is left unmodified, except for the: JASMA Exhaust System, genuine Ferrari F40 Wheels and stereo, so that you, the new owner has a clean slate to customize this vehicle to your liking or leave it stock. This vehicle comes with service records, manuals and other documents to validate its condition.
Buyer beware of those who lurk to take advantage of naïve buyers with quick scams and deceptive sales points. As we always say, the proof is in the documentation as this is something I ensured to obtain from the previous owner as it was very important to me prior to purchase. Since I live in California, this vehicle's registration has not been started through DMV yet. I figured I leave that process as clean as possible for the buyer of this vehicle. Outside of California, registering this vehicle is a piece of cake, and is not an issue since you will be provided with all legal documentation showing approved entry into U.S. Commerce. Since CARB does not have an equivalency in other states besides California, you will not have any difficulty registering this vehicle. If you require a letter from me to show your state department of motor vehicle why this vehicle was not registered in California post importation, please do not hesitate in asking me and I will provide to you a notarized letter.
