History:
The
Nissan Patrol -
G60
(Japanese: 日産・パトロール Nissan Patorōru)
A series of large four-wheel drive vehicles manufactured by Nissan in Japan since 1951. The Patrol is generally regarded as a tough and utilitarian 4×4 in Australia and New Zealand, the Middle East, Latin America, Africa, Europe, Japan, and the Caribbean, where it competed directly with the Toyota Land Cruiser (Which is its main rival in those markets).
US customers could only get Patrols from 1962 until 1969. Patrols were sold through Datsun dealerships, making it, at the time, the only Nissan-badged vehicles sold in the United States.
Total Units Imported: . .... ~
2600 vehicles.
~
2000 Hard Tops
~ 600 Soft Tops
Even with the super success of other Datsun/Nissan vehicle like the 240Z, Fairlady 1600/2000 Roadster, and their popular 720 Pickups, the Patrol was one vehicle that just never gained a foothold in the U.S. Market. Even with sales ending stateside, production of the Patrol series continues even today t/o Asia, Africa, and Australia Markets.

1969 Nissan Patrol - G60
( 1 of 600 imported )
*Final year of production in U.S.
This project has taken about 1.5 years and countless hours of research and sourcing. Because the Nissan Patrol never gained a foothold in the U.S. market, there are “literally” NO parts available stateside for these vehicles.
During the process of restoring, Parts where sourced by doing using my contacts in Japan and Australia. That being said, parts in those countries are near exhausted. This was a all out restore. Every part of this vehicle was stripped, and things needed were replaced/rebuilt/refurbished/ or custom made to as close as factory.
THE RESULT:
In the end, the hard work has paid off... There are only a very small few Nissan Patrol’s left in the U.S. that are still on the road today.
Because I made sure to keep it as OE as possible while LITERALLY rebuilding it from the ground up. .. I like to think of this Patrol as a
“ONE OF A KIND” in the United States.

This is a very nice rig. Maybe driven 200 miles since completed. Took to car shows and a few daily cruises.
Interior is a 9 of 10 in my opinion *( only because I haven't recovered the rear seat.. has small tear and is old material )... Paint is a 8 out of 10. Some minor things, only one crack in paint at hood bumper where it came down to hard on the fender. ( not noticeable when closed.)I don't want to go into so much detail that it gets ridiculous, but believe me when I say every part of this rig has been touched, right down to the grease in the axles.Paint is all new, Seats new, All gauges work, rewired, etc… I can't tell you the amount of hours spent rebuilding her. Black bed area is Chip-coated with bed liner, not factory but I figured it was much better of a option for wear and tear. The top is something I had made custom. Its as close to factory in design. I used all weather waxed canvas, and incorporated a 3mm clear windows in OE positions. Local shop did all the stitching for me. Underneath is the full tube subframe.I have photos of the entire process, so you can see the amazing condition before, and now after. Documentation make the difference for sales.
Car runs very well, It has the OE 1barrel carb ( rebuilt of course. )… It has a slight cough at times at bottom end, or starting out. I've tried to remedy, but have not been able to completely eliminate it. I didn't want to remove the carb as its OE, but I'm sure a newer model, or updated carb would most likely fix it. I am telling you this, as I am a up front and honest guy. The rig drives fantastic down the road. New tires, new shocks, its a great ride. Solid suspension, with tons of OE travel.
This would make a fantastic collectors vehicle, of a sweet driver… But being the Patrol is so rare, and a Icon of its day, I would hope it gets a babied life.
If you have question, feel free to ask. I'll get back with you asap. Thanks for looking.
Brian
