vehicle is just in time for winter! This 1998 Nissan Pathfinder LE 4X4 is in running/working order (engine light on) and has a well-cared for interior. I have the clean Colorado Title as well as CarFax report in hand. I have all the original owner manuals, key and remote entry. It is CO registered until the end of March 2016. It currently has 192, 500 (mostly highway) miles on it. The last oil change and tire rotation was done at Firestone in October 2015.
Sadly, it is time for me to part with “Silver Bullet”… Since January of 2002, she has been a faithful and reliable companion to me as I traveled and worked with the National Park Service. This Pathfinder has lived and played in Gulf Islands National Seashore (FL), Mojave National Preserve (CA), and the foothills of the Rocky Mountains (CO) and most recently last winter in Vermont. The 4X4 system (high and low) has shown to be a great warrior, able to tackle steep grades, many boulders, and huge snow storms. The 60/40 rear split bench is great for carrying tall items, ski gear, etc. and the overall cargo volume is massive for hauling stuff.
The Interior is in very good condition for its age. The exterior is in overall good to fair condition with some small bumps and bruises. It has been gently loved and driven exclusively by me since January of 2002; I am the second owner. One accident was reported with the original owner; I have never had any issues come up due to this. Three years ago, BestBuy installed a Sony Digital Radio/CD player with MP3/USB (CDX-GT700HD) with Bose Speakers. I do have the remote and manual for this sound system which I ordered through Crutchfield.
Silver Bullet has a lot of highway miles, and has faithfully delivered me from coast to coast (usually pulling a U-Haul trailer) with the installed trailer hitch. Towing capacity (depending on your speed and road grade) is anywhere from 3500-5000 lbs. I firmly believe that with a little bit of investment, this Pathfinder will faithfully ride for many more miles! A new radiator was added in the winter of 2011. All four Hankook Optimo tires were installed in the summer of 2013, and the front and rear brakes were done in July 2014. I did not keep copies of these service records, as I always expected to drive this SUV until its last miles.
This Pathfinder does have some mechanical issues, which forces me to put it up for adoption. I was told by mechanics at Firestone and Y&T Transmissions (both in North Wales) that Silver Bullet most likely needs a new engine knock sensor, valve cover gaskets, and possibly a new left front tie-rod. The muffler does have some rust and a leak. All this being said, I have still been driving the vehicle like this for many months without issue. There is just a little oil smell and that extra special little roar that announces her arrival! The remote will lock all doors, but the actual key must be used to open the vehicle. Please see pictures for areas of rust, marks and the few dents.
