Bought new from Melloy Nissan in Albuquerque, my XTerra Pro 4-X has been entirely dealer-serviced at the recommended intervals, and comes with a full set of maintenance records. This is a very clean truck that's been modified to work better off-road and while camping/hunting/fishing, but not too over the top. A 3/10 on the scale of what can be done to an XTerra. My goal was to NOT ruin this truck's ability as a daily driver, and that's worked out. She's been a beast in Death Valley, in and around Moab, and all over New Mexico and Colorado.
6 speed manual transmission, Knight's Armor grey in color. A rare combination which took an extra month for Melloy to source! Factory electronic locking differentials, front and rear, and 4x4 high and low range. With the suspension lift, tires and locking diffs, I've never once been stuck in this thing in snow, mud or anywhere else.
The exterior is just about brand-new - there's two little dings on the front fenders (both times, I dropped a fly-rod case), a tiny (repaired) chip in the windshield and a few rock chips on the leading edge of the hood. There's some small bits of oxidation on the rock sliders and rear bumper, but as they're both powdercoated steel I guess that's to be expected a bit. Having said that, this truck looks significantly better when it's dirty from being used, so the little bits of oxidation have never bugged me.
Interior is about flawless in the passenger areas, and has never been smoked in. All the seats have been regularly vacuumed and the passenger plastics regularly maintained. The rear cargo area is scratched up from a bunch of camping trips in the desert, but I always wanted access to the under-floor cargo area and tie-down channels in the floor, so I never bothered to get a Weathertech mat for the rear. The side storage compartments in the rear can each hold two 1-gallon plastic bottles (or growlers, come to think of it) and the under-floor area is where I've stoked wheel chocks, Hi-Lift accessories, jumper cables, spare gloves, a tire iron, etc.
I pitched the original floormats because once you've got all-weather mats installed, what's the point in yet more carpeting? That said, the Weathertechs look a little dusty - mainly because I live in the desert but also because they're floormats which get used a ton post-fishing or skiing. They've been a great purchase, and have kept the truck's original carpet in great shape.

“Excellent condition inside and out. I chose well-picked offroad parts to make this truck more capable and useful for 4x4 camping without ruining it as a daily driver, and while i've used this truck hard all over the desert Southwest, it's had dealer service since new and is in perfect running order. A couple tiny (dime-size) dings from dropped fly rods, and the passenger door window is scratched after I got hit by a slushball during a winter storm, but otherwise the truck's in great shape.” |
