Description:

Listing a car I really wanted to finish but life has a way of changing things for you sometimes. This is a 1956 Olds 88 4 door sedan. I've put a lot of money into this car so far and way more than I'm asking, but I'm not the first one to have done that.
The car came out of Oklahoma a few years back and I brought her home and freshened her up making ready for an old rat rod to cruise around in. I've done the following: bead blasted the wheels and had them sprayed in a hot rod black semi gloss, new bullet lug nuts, NOS dust caps for the front wheel bearings, new king pins and bushings, newly rebuilt starter and generator, new voltage regulator, very nice replacement tail lights with blue dots installed, tranny fluid change and new pan gasket, lowering blocks in the rear, re-cored radiator, new wide whites and a NOS wide white for the spare, new bake lines front to back, new brake hoses front to back, new brake hardware, new brake shoes all around, turned the drums, new wheel cylinders, new belts, new hoses, new thermostat, rebuilt carb, boiled out gas tank, new gas sending unit, new rubber lines for the tank, rebuilt fuel pump, new rad cap, new gas cap, peep mirrors, curb feelers, and more.
The car is close to being finished for my tastes but you finish her the way you want to. She needs front floor pans, a windshield, and new side windows cut and installed. For the interior I'll throw in a set of inexpensive seat covers that I was going to do the seats and door panels in. The car starts first time, every time and runs smooth as silk. The tranny shift perfectly and she stops on a dime.
No power steering, no power brakes, 2 bbl carb, and no noises or issues to worry about. Finish her up and hop in and drive anywhere. Just backing her outside the garage to sweep the floor people stop, take pictures, stare, ask questions, and ooh. . and ahh. . all the time. If you're shy you probably shouldn't buy this car.
As I said, I've way more in the car than I'm asking and the hard work is already done. Bid up this old gal and be driving in a couple of weekends with the help of a couple of friends. The paperwork is free and clear and ready to transfer over to you. I think the price is more than fair for a mostly finished running, driving project. I can help your hauler load her and cash is preferred for payment.
I will also be listing another '56 4 door Super 88 later in the week, a very solid Montana car that is in better shape to start with than this car, that one was to be a full blown restoration project. Also check out the auction I have for my '49 Ford Custom tudor, and I will also be listing a '55 Olds 88 2 door hardtop that is a decent car and a candidate for an excellent parts car or a restoration project.
