This rare 1963 Oldsmobile Starfire is being offered for auction to the highest bidder. This Starfire was purchased by its current owner out of Minot South Dakota off the showroom of an RV dealer and given to his dad as gift. The dad had the car for many years and when he passed away it was given back to the current owner who has lovingly preserved the Olds and uses it only at local car shows or to get ice cream with his family.
This Starfire is equipped with:
· 394 High-compression engine
· Automatic transmission
· Power brakes
· Air conditioning
· Power steering
· Power windows
· Vacuum/mileage gauge in console
· Seat belts
· Power antenna
· Tilt steering wheel
The body and bright work:
This car is in great shape for being 50 years old in my opinion. The trim and moldings are complete with the exception of the Oldsmobile insignia above the lock cylinder on the trunk lid. The body does have some body work popping on the left front fender. The bright work does have some dings and scratches in it as you would expect. The paint shines nicely as the car sits under a cover in the garage.
Frame and underneath of vehicle:
Frame and substructures show no evidence of collision or repairs. There is a small spot on the drivers frame leg that is starting to blister from rust. Other than that area, the underneath is clean.
Interior and seats:
The interior is clean and looks to be original. The headliner looks to be original. There are no rips or tears and the seats are quite comfortable as you expect for a car from the sixties. This Starfire is equipped with seat belts and they are in great shape.
Mechanical:
Radiator has been re-cored
Radiator hoses
Newer battery
Fuel pump
Fuel pump to carb line
Power brake booster has been rebuilt
Brake master cylinder was replaced with a New Old Stock unit
Brake shoes and hardware are new at all four corners as are the wheel cylinders
Front brake hoses
Rear axle steel brake lines
Exhaust was replaced from the Y-pipe back
I am listing this vehicle for a friend so if you have any questions please me know! I can answer almost any mechanical question as I have performed most of the maintenance over the last four years. This Starfire will sit for months under a cover with a battery tender attached and will fire up even on the coldest days. Inspections are not only expected but are encouraged.
