1977 Oldsmobile Toronado

Oldsmobile Toronado (1977)
for sale

Price: US $200.00

Description:

I am the third owner of this 1977 Toronado, with 66427 original miles. The original owner purchased this car in Rolla, MO and owned it until 2014, the second owner purchased the car and had a short while before I purchased it in December of 2014. This Toronado has new tires and fresh brakes, but needs a major tune up including belts, hoses and plug wires. This car was put into storage in 2004 with approx.63000 miles and not driven until 2014 when the second owner purchased the car.
This car drives very well, the steering and FWD is tight and precise, and if you are familiar with these front wheel drive cars, you know how well they handle the curves. The motor starts the first time every time, and the Olds 403 ci engine has a reputation for reliability. The trunk is bone dry, evidence that the high mount turn lights in the trunk deck have never leaked. All lights on this car work as they should. The body has 3 inch place of body filler in the driver's door behind the mirror where it appears to have had something gouge the door, and evidence of filler on the passenger side rear fender, just behind the rear tire, and you can tell that it had a repaint from the molding down.
The driver's side front seat is worn on the corner of the head rest and set back, and the passenger seat has a slight stain near the arm rest, as the backseat looks as no one has ever been back there. The carpet is perfect, except by the driver's side, where the carpet is torn where the plastic protective mat is sown in. The original AM/FM 8-track stereo works, but the speakers crackle and pop, and I had to disconnect the power antenna as it stopped going up and the motor would constantly run. The air conditioning has been converted to 134a, but I would change out the O-rings before recharging the system.
Now the good news, the car is decent enough to drive to cruise night, and nice enough to show, it was in the Toronado Owners Association National Meet in St. Charles, IL over the Fourth of July weekend. After a major tune up, I wouldn't hesitate to drive it from coast to coast, this car has a current Virginia safety inspection, currently plated and insured and driven weekly. The main reason that I'm selling this is to help finance the purchase of another rare Oldsmobile.

“I have owned this car since December 2014 and gave it new tires, freshened the brakes and replace a leaking door seal on the driver's side. The engine needs a major tune up including belts, hoses, new vacuum lines and plugs and wires. The air conditioning will not blow cold, and has already been converted to 134a refrigerant, and I believe the O-rings need changed out as the vehicle sat for 10 years in storage. Because of a vacuum leak, the cruise control doesn't work, but I believe that new vacuum line will solve that problem. The driver's side seat and head rest are worn in two places and the passenger seat has a slight stain next to the center arm rest. The carpet is torn on the driver's side where the plastic protective pad is sewn in by the pedals. Body is straight and shows some evidence of a repaint from the molding down, the rear trunk lid shows some small bubbles of surface rust around the Oldsmobile emblem. The paint finish still shines and makes the car a nice 10 footer.”
