19670000 Oldsmobile Toronado

Oldsmobile Toronado (1967)
for sale

Price: US $2,500.00

Description:

A design ahead of its time and the first front wheel drive 425 V8. This Toronado is elegant and turns head. It drives very smooth with tons of power and very quiet. I drove it major traffic during summer heat waves, where the Mercury hovered around 90 and the car kept cool, despite running the A/C at all times. The car is pretty much all original except the interior seats, headliner and carpets have been redone (still need headline clips around rear window). The paint is has some chips here and there, but overall it looks very presentable as you can see in the picture. The automatic popout light work perfectly. A/C and Heating works. Odometer needs a new cable (supplied with car). Dash clock is not working. Needs light bulbs to light dashboardpanel instrumentation. There is some minor surface corrosion here and there on the body but mainly aesthetic. Brakes work very well, steering is great - the way it was designed to be - a cream puff. Suspension is excellent. Although engine compression is excellent and power is impressive, the engine produces white smoke when hot or at sudden acceleration. This suggests a change of valves and worse case an engine rebuild, which may cost approximately $1500. According to NY Times and Hemming, this is a bargain collector car most likely to appreciate.

“Jay Leno owns a 66 Toronado - join his club with a 67! This one runs well, and is a solid daily driver with functioning A/C and heaters (although fan is weak and noisy). Pop out lights work. Indicators work. Radio works. Break lights work. excellent brakes, new comfortable interior. "Cream puff" suspension and ride, remarkable steering (compete a three point turn with your pinkie). Body has multiple chips, paint shows vase-like cracks in certain areas as it's mostly the original paint. New headliner installed last month. head liner inside and odometer cable needs to be changed. Engine produces some white smoke when hot and during hard acceleration suggesting cylinder valves needs to be changed - this could eventually lead to an engine rebuild ($1500 approx)”
