Classic, Yellow, 1973 Opel GT
Original, matching numbers car with the 1900CC (1.9L) engine.
I bought this car a few months ago thinking it was for me - but it's just not. I'm just not as young as I thought I was (it's low and hard to get in & out of.) Since I bought this car, I added a Brand New Weber 32/36 DGEV Carburetor, an electronic ignition kit, new plugs, wires, spare tire, stereo speakers, third brake light (LED) & retro-fitted LED's for most of the exterior marker lights - without destroying easy, unnoticeable change back to the regular bulbs.
Details:
Interior:
• All Original: Seats, Carpeting, Door Panels, Trim, Dash (only 1 or 2 cracks near the VIN #)• Other Interior Parts - Gauges, Knobs, etc. are all original (missing the original 2 small vent knobs for the left & right dash vents.)• New, updated, retractable seat-belt (Originals supplied.)• Carpet shows 40 years of use in foot area - no holes or tears.• Seats have/need some repairs - or you can use seat covers. • Original, black Head-liner is in very fine condition (one or two small 'pokes')• Original AM radio is still in dash & is not currently functioning. • Clock & gas gauge are also not currently functioning - but do light up. • Speedometer & tachometer work just fine.
Included with sale of the car:
• Original, working Solex Carburetor (recently rebuilt.) • Original, stock air filter assembly along with a new filter element.• Maintenance Card.• Original Driver's Door Mirror (car never had a passenger side mirror. Original mirror has been replaced for a cleaner look.)• Set of New Brake Pads - uninstalled.• 1973 Buick/Opel Service Book.• Brand New Stereo Speakers installed in rear dash (under window.)
Needs:
• Weber compatible Air Filter.• Brake Booster & full brake service. (Car is 'derivable' as-is, but requires much force & quick reaction to stop safely.)• Door seals & window rubbers could stand replacement too.• Key for the locking gas cap.• Could stand a new battery before winter comes.
Mechanics:
• Brand New Weber 32/36 DGEV Carburetor (about 150 miles on it - as I have not been driving it much.) • Engine has strong, even compression.• Transmission and Clutch are Strong.• New Radiator & Hoses not long ago.• Exhaust system is in good working condition. - Sounds GREAT!• Brand New Electronic Ignition, Distributor cap, Rotor, Plugs & Wires.• Steering and Suspension are Very Tight.• Headlights Rotate and Function Properly (with the required ‘new wiring’ to prevent typical electrical problems.)• Ignition Switch has been Supplemented with a Starter Button under the dash (key is still needed to unlock steering & turn on the ignition.)
Body:
• All Original Body Panels (no aftermarket fiberglass replacement panels.)• Bottom, front of car, under battery tray
has
been repaired with fiberglass.• New Paint job about 2 years ago.• No Accident Damage visible (no dents.) • Minor rust in rocker panels, etc. has been repaired.• No serious rust holes in Floors or on frame.• There is a 'wiper scar' on the passenger side of the windscreen. It Does Pass NYS Safety Inspection anyway, so not necessary, except for cosmetic reasons - unless your state is different. • Original Opel Rims with original Center Caps & Trim rings.• New Tires, including the Spare tire on an original, matching wheel with all the original 'hold-down mounts.

Car had been off the road since about 1994 until a few months ago. Odometer reads less then 40, 400 miles.Repairs had been made as needed, while keeping the cars originality - in case you want to “restore it.” Please remember, although recent repairs were made as needed, this car was off the road for the past 20 years.I have Over $8, 500ºº invested in it.
