Description:

An Honest to god little old ladys car, with an original 47, 500 miles.
The last and first owner was a little old lady from California. Due to medical issues she came to Virginia to be with family. She drove the car up until just a few years ago.
Unfortunately she stored some items that needed to be taken out of the trunk, and no one could find the key so they damaged the trunk trying to get it opened. Fortunately a spare trunk lid does come with the car, and damage between the taillights is easily repaired.

High Points:
1) Engine all original down to Solex and Points.. and starts perfectly and idles smooth
2) Battery Box is rust free, in that there is no rust thru it does have surface rust but structurally is perfect
3) Passenger Frame Rail is perfect
4) Driver frame rail has surface rust and the smallest starting of rust in the frame. Very easily repaired and not structural at all
5) Only minor rust found in the doors, and body as noted in picture
6) Interiors' Blue Velour replaced ( as the old Opel velour never lasted long)
7) Headliner is solid and in good shape, as is the original carpet.
8) Glass is in great condition and overall condition of the car is very good
9) Doors close clean and solid
10) Engine feels strong, purrs at idle and the Automatic shifts well.
Low Points:
1) Driver Fender damaged during transportation
2) Lower rocker and part of door also received a little damage during transportation
3) Hood has dent from transportation.. looks like may have had something dropped on it before as there was bondo where the damage was. But from the back of the hood.. there doesn't seem to be any damage.


4) Rear tail lights are faded and in rough shape from the California sun
5) Engine bay is pretty dirty and needs radiator rubber mounts
6) Dash has a few cracks
7) Gauge cluster in OK condition, sun faded by the California sun.
8) Suspension is a bit tired, mainly due to the rubber drying out. Nothing broken, and seems like nothing a fresh set of bushings wouldn't cure.
9) Front bumper missing guards and has been slightly tweaked. Its hard to see in the pictures.
10) Rear Bumper slightly tweaked but again hard to see in the pictures.
Garage Kept Opel Mantas in this condition don't come along often anymore. Especially those that have solid battery boxes, and no frame damage. Those are getting exceedingly rare. The few that can still be found in this condition are in the California and the Southwest, and have a lot of sun damage. to the interior.
As noted a spare trunk lid is being provided by the seller to alleviate any concern finding one.
Also the seller has a complete set of New Old Stock lights from front to rear available separately to the buyer of the car for $600 all 4 taillights and housings NOS
