You are viewing possibly the most beautiful and authentic Ettore Bugatti T-35B Roadster tribute ever constructed on a Volkswagen chassis and gently used and pampered by a vintage car collector’s and automobile builder. This beautiful roadster was constructed almost four decades (1979) ago by a professional fabricator from the Pacific Northwest and much attention was given to detail to make this Bugatti's exterior look as exciting and authentic as any ever built on a Volkswagen chassis, gently revealing its age and patina and will provide many years of exhilarating motoring. If/when the new owner is ready to resale this car, they will never lose equity as these replica Bugatti's have soared in value in the past decade, especially the more unusual and well built Bugatti boattail, open cockpit racers.
The cockpit offers a very aesthetically pleasing console with working gauges (taken while driving) as can be seen on the instrument cluster picture. The speedometer operates horizontally and registers the speed on the rotating dial. It is appointed with a pair of Brooklands Racing Wind Screens with adjustable thumb levers. Leather belt straps and buckles secure the cowling and spare wheel to the body with a functional and appealing hand brake. There is a stereo under the dashboard, horn button, and buttons to operate the rear air shocks to raise and lower the rear height of the vehicle. It does not have blinkers but does have functional head lights (high and low beam), yellow cruising lights embedded in the headlights, and a functional rear brake light. This car is street legal! There are some scratches and nicks in the body as would be expected in a 36 year old vehicle. It will need a small pulley to attach to the emergency brake cable to operate the passenger side emergency brake as it currently engages only the driver side emergency brake. I purchased a pulley online but it is too large. There are some minor cracks in the fiberglass behind the rear wheels where the fender brackets attach but hard to see.
The power plant boasts a 1500cc VW engine with a manual four speed transmission that gives it plenty of power to push this beauty down the road in stylish fashion. The open concept header attaches directly to the side pipes to give this Bugatti an envious, throaty sound that leaves a real Bugatti to envy. I've heard many VW's on the street but must confess that I've never heard (or even seen one for that matter) an authentic 1927 Bugatti but will ensure the rumble from this roadster will make the hair on your back rise. This Ettore Bugatti T-35B Roadster Tribute is located in The United States, Overland Park, Kansas (a suburb of Kansas City). It is titled in Kansas as a 1985 with the Make: ASVE which is Kansas' designation as an Assembled Vehicle without a manufacturer, Model: Bugatti, Style: RD-Roadster. I was able to insure my this vehicle with Hagerty Insurance for $25k for less than $250/year. I have a clear Kansas title in hand, registered with the State of Kansas DMV, and ready to provide enjoyment to the next owner. The only remaining question is will it be with you?
