This is a 2012 Coda Electric Vehicle. It was fully functional and ran great but the main battery pack was just removed and now would need another battery pack that includes the Battery Management System in order to run. All of the other component's are intact and still in the vehicle. These vehicles were originally designed by Pininfarina and updated by Porsche Design Studios for Coda Automotive in California.
These were the best range vehicles in their class and have the excellent, American Made, UQM 100kW motor and controller with the Borg Warner gear reduction transaxle. This also comes with the onboard 6.6kW Lear Charger, Mitsubishi/Ford Electric Air Conditioner, ABS Brakes, Stability Control, Power Windows, Power Door Locks, Remote Door Lock, Power Trunk Release, Alpine AM-FM CD Stereo and Navigation System, Alloy Wheels, Leather Seats, Drivers Height Adjustment Seat, Front Reclining Seats, Rear Defroster, PTM in line Heater, Power Steering, Power Brakes and more.
They are a highway speed vehicle with a governed top speed of 85 MPH. The range was estimated at 125 miles with the standard battery pack. It was a fully certified NHTSA vehicle with 6 airbags and seating for 5 passengers. It was the only production EV at the time to have seating for five and a full size trunk.
We have seen Codas drivetrains adapted to other vehicles ranging from a Corvair all the way up to a European Military Truck! These are very durable and powerful compact cars. This was a factory demonstrator vehicle originally and comes with a Manufactures Certificate of Origin (MSO) and has never been registered before. Replacement parts are available through Mullen Technologies in California. It is great for spare parts if you own a Coda, install your own battery pack and drive or for conversion purposes.
