Price: US $200.00
Offered for sale is an extremely rare, legendary 1967 GAZ
M21 Volga, Chrome package. Russian/Soviet biggest and most luxurious car sold
to individual owners in the USSR in large
quantities, though its price was very high and made it unavailable for most car
buyers. Third generation.
White/Grey with Green interior. She is in a great cosmetic and
mechanical shape. Incredible Survivor! It is only 66, 000 kilometers/41, 000 miles
on the clock. Two owners. She hasn’t been used and stuck in a barn since 1999
until this year. 99.9% original. Even original bulbs 3-way radio works. Not
original, only: battery, tires, floor mats and oil filter. How cool is to have
an original USSR First Aid Kit in the car(mandatory in Europe) with all the original
ingredients inside?
In 1988, about 80, 000 GAZ M21 Volgas were registered in the USSR. Today, it is considered a motoring icon with fans all over the world, including at
least a handful in the USA (one having appeared in 1999–2001 in Boston).
Jay Leno has one in his collection: here
Vladimir Putin has
two of them registered to his personal name and gave a ride in one of them to
George W. Bush when he was visiting Russia: here
One Black GAZ M21 Volga was given to Yuri Gagarin after his
orbital flight; Gagarin was very fond of his Volga: here
Also she appeared in numbers of
Hollywood movies.
Now you have a great
and rare opportunity to own a part of USSR history!! I personally imported the
vehicle back in April. She is completely street legal, has a Clear Florida
title on hands and can be registered and insured anywhere in the US with no
issues. Can be used as a daily driver. Also, I can ship her anywhere in the world.
She runs and drives great, like she was designed for. Has no mechanical issues.
Powered by a 6.7:1 compression, 75 hp (56 kW;
76 PS), 2.4 L inline four cylinder
engine and three-speed transmission. Rear wheel drive. No prior body damage. Brand new tires.
Original spare tire. Original tool kit. Original jack. There are no signs of
any sort of leaks. When I received her, she was fully serviced and all fluids
where changed to quality US brands. Replaced with originals: brake hoses and muffler.
I reside in Ft.
Myers, FL. Come, inspect and test drive this great, exotic vehicle and you
couldn't resist of buying one. Take a closer look at the pictures, they speak
for themselves. More pictures available upon request. My reasonable asking
price is $39, 900 obo. If you have any questions, please feel free to call me
any time at: (239) 415 - 0600.
Any parts are
available on line or I can provide them. Some parts I have in stock in Florida and the rest are available by order.
The delivery time depends of an order. From three days to two months to most
continental territories of the US.
Some history:
The GAZ M21 Volga was produced in the Soviet Union from
1956 to 1970. The very first Volga, it was developed in the early 1950s.
Volgas were built with high ground clearance (which gives it a specific
high look, contrary to low-long-sleek look of Western
cars of similar design), rugged suspension, strong and forgiving engine, and
rustproofing on a scale unheard of in the 1950s. The Volga was stylistically in
line with the major United States manufacturers of the period, and incorporated such then-luxury features as the reclining front seat, cigarette lighter, heater, windshield washer and 3-wave radio.
Three series (generations)
GAZ-21 were released, most easily distinguished by the grille. The First Series
(1956–58), known as the Star, featured a lattice of three large horizontal bars in the center of which was a
medallion with a star. Vehicles of the Second Series (1958-1962), known as the Shark, featured a grille with 16
vertical slits. Finally, the Third Series (1962-1970), known as the Baleen, featured a grille with 34
thin vertical rods.
The Third Series was produced from 1962 to 1970. The
1962 models dropped the leaping deer hood ornament, and had a new grille. The headliner changed from
cloth to vinyl, and the radio became optional.
Volga Dvadtsat'
Odin (Volga Twenty One in Russian) was produced nearly as
long as the Citroen DS, and played the same
role in Russian automotive culture: a legend-on-wheels.
Good luck bidding!!
