I'm selling my 1946 Hudson Pickup. This is a great truck and is very reliable. Has a great running, non-smoking 455 v-8 and a 400 turbo transmission that shifts out well. Has a Camaro frame clip in front with PS, PDB and independent suspension and Camaro rear axle and stock springs. Edelbrock carburetor with electric choke (cranks right up every time) and an aluminum high flow radiator to keep everything cool even on those hot summer days. I purchased this truck a number of years back. It is registered, licensed and insured in my name. I am the sole owner and there are no liens. Alabama is a non-title state on a pre-'75 vehicle and you can easily confirm this with your own DMV. I believe I still have the old Florida title from when I purchased. You will get a notarized bill of sale from me and a copy of my current registration which is all you'll need to register in your state. This truck is for sale locally so I reserve the right to end the auction at any time for any reason.
The old Whizzer motor bikes (and bike rack) in the back are not part of the auction as I'm not sure I'm ready to part with them. This is not a true show truck, though I like to take it to shows and crank up the old Whizzers in the back - it draws more attention than the high dollar cars. The paint is old and imperfect, but still very respectable. I've owned many of these old rare Hudson trucks (five total) and this is the most solid one I've run across. It has a stainless bed with a nice flip up door near the cab under which there is a compartment for two batteries and tool storage. A switch under the dash switches from battery A to battery B in case you have trouble with one, though I never have. Lights work, but has no turn signals. I use Rainex instead of the old vacuum wipers.
The motor in this old truck is super strong. It will burn the rubber off even the rather large new tires on the back, which takes some serious torque. All four tires are new. I also have a set of five-spoke Cragars (see one of the pics) with new rubber on front and used rubber on back that will go with the truck in case you like that look better or want to switch things up. I like the black metal wheels (they're actually Chevy Rally Sport wheels) because, with the older paint, the truck looks totally stock and really surprises folks when the traffic light turns green. The truck runs well in town or down the interstate. It has made the trip from Mobile AL to Daytona FL without issue and has been to Moultrie GA a couple times. Interior is very presentable with gray cloth door panels and matching headliner. Gray carpet and a nice gray leather bench seat. Guages need a little help - the temp guage works intermittently, though the truck runs nice and cool and has never overheated even when it's 100 degrees outside.
