Description:

You are bidding on a good driver-quality 1950 Hudson Commodore 6 sedan with '53 308 Hornet engine. This car is perfect for someone who wants a decent, presentable car to drive to events as is or to have fun with while working toward a more complete restoration. The two-tone blue paint is an older repaint with nicks and a couple of large scratches (see pictures) that could be touched up. While some chrome and stainless has been upgraded, some still could use attention. It has a serviceable and presentable interior. The seats and headliner were redone a few years ago. The dash and carpet are okay but could use a refresh.
The engine and drivetrain are in good shape. The engine has good compression and runs strong. I bought the car from a friend last year. Since then, I have done brakes, tires, replaced the radiator and heater core, installed new battery, replaced plugs and wires, starter bendix, serviced the clutch, changed out all the fluids, and have 4 new shocks in the trunk awaiting installation. Still needing to be done: adjust the valves, readjust the clutch, and complete the 12-volt conversion the previous owner started (hook up O/D, add resistors for the heater fan and clock. All the lights, etc, have been replaced with 12V bulbs and work fine.
There has been some rust repair done in the unibody, likely when the car was painted. There are a few rusty areas that could use attention, but nothing critical. The car has several unusual factory options including a correct visor, factory-installed fog lights and back up lights.
This Hudson runs and drives well. The mileage stated above may be actual, but the title lists it as exempt and it's certain that the engine isn't original so take that figure with a grain of salt. It's basically just a good old Hudson to enjoy driving. I'm only selling it because I have an opportunity to repurchase my old '46 Super Six that I had to sell when I got laid off several years ago. I had owned it for many years and have known the car for almost fifty years. I only have room for one Hudson and the sentimental value of my old '46 is forcing this sale. I hope the new owner likes the car as much as I do.
