Offered
for sale is this rare and collectable UNRESTORED 1974 Jensen
Interceptor III. All original parts and
matching numbers!!! Very solid body with no rust repairs makes this a rare find!!!
This Interceptor III came from the factory as it is today
featuring a Chrysler 440 4 barrel and a 727 TorqueFlite automatic transmission
with a Salisbury limited slip differential. It features power windows, power
locks, power steering, air conditioning and sheepskin delete. Specifications that increase its rarity
include:
Left hand drive, only 527 produced
Black exterior, only 69 produced
Beige interior, only 392 produced
Included with the vehicle is the original owner’s manual, the factory tool kit, original spare drive belts bearing the Mopar logo, spare
tire and mag, factory supplied can of black touch up paint, fire
extinguisher/tyre inflator with manual, and the owner’s manual for the
Blaupunkt cassette radio/recorder with microphone.
I originally purchased this car with the intention of performing a mild restoration and keeping it but later learned that because it has the rare commodity of original patina that it should be preserved rather than restored. This automobile needs a proper home where it can be appreciated for it's originality and I will search for a suitable project in the future. Good luck bidding!
Mechanically, the passenger power window motor would need a
replacement pinion gear. The regulator assembly has been inspected and is intact.
There is no sound coming from the radio.
Cosmetically on the exterior the finish is somewhat
weathered and has some cracking typical of an aged finish. There is no
evidence of rust or impact repair. The only rust I can find is some minor
bubbling on the hood and a small rust spot about the size of a quarter on the
driver’s side inner fender well. The rockers and floors are VERY SOLID. On the
hood there are some marks near the louvers that I can only assume were caused
by someone too aggressive with a buffer that should have left it in his
toolbox.
Cosmetically on the interior there is evidence of use and
some discoloration but overall in VERY GOOD condition, far better than any originals I’ve
seen for sale. There are no tears and the headliner is pristine.
