London Taxi International
built about 256 of these cars for the North American market to meet N. American standards like
left hand drive
. It has a built in wheelchair ramp and tie-downs that meet regulation standards; also has a handicap swivel seat. It can seat six, or you can add a jump seat in the front to seat seven, or we have had a person in a wheelchair, the driver, and four passengers.
This was one of the first to be imported and was used as a taxi in the eastern US for a few months, then sold to a Florida resident who used it on the TV show
SUPER NANNY
. This is the actual car used on the set by Super Nanny.
When the show wound down, I bought it and drove it to Vancouver Island where it has served well as a taxi for the past four years.
Parts are readily available in Greensboro N. Carolina USA as well as in the UK.
I have now sold the taxi business but not included this car.
Since they are very valuable, one in mint condition recently sold for US $70, 000, I decided to restore this one back to it's original state, and either use it as my personal car, or sell it. Finished it should sell for over $40, 000. No major rust.
We took it apart, fixed the automatic transmission, removed the engine and rebuilt the bottom end, replaced the timing chain and gears etc... have a new windshield waiting to be installed. Now, I do not have my mechanic, and have to move it from where it is, so have to sell it not completed.
All the parts are there to finish the job, have a full workshop manual, it is on wheels so it will roll, but engine not finished so cannot drive it.

Initial picture is what it looked like when I got it, the next one is just before we dissembled it then the name plate on the Ford diesel engine, and with the body off to pull the engine. Engine is in, body is on, needs some dents to be fixed, engine tuned, fenders etc attached and paint... not a complete list. So far I have over $10K into the restoration.
Can't get at mileage right now, the listed mileage is not correct. I think it is under 200K
