You've seen Nobles for sale before, but nothing like this car. If you don't already know, there are huge differences in M12/M400 Nobles in the U.S. Some are worth $40k and others are worth 5 times that much. It's all a matter of what has been done to them, how recently, and who did the work. This is Noble #143 out of 220 and it is the most incredible Noble you are likely to see.
-All work performed at Turbohoses, the premier Noble build/mod shop in the country, between 2010 and 2015. More than $200k spent at Turbohoses on top of the initial purchase price. Receipts to prove it, with most recent work finished in August 2015.
-Noble performance engine. Duratec 3.0 liter short block race engine, JE pistons, Ferrea valve train.
-Single turbo conversion to Garrett gt35r turbo along with all the engine and manifold upgrades that this involves. Changing from the stock twin turbo setup has proved more reliable, provides more usable power and has better longevity.
-Dual boost switch on the dash board. High/low provides 515/440 hp to the wheel. This was fine-tuned after several attempts to dial in the ideal boost and power. It's nice to have the extra kick around the track and to keep it a little more calm around, if you can call 440 hp in a 2400 lb car calm!
-Reinforced 6 speed Ford racing transmission.
-Custom dry sump, new fuel pump, water pump and custom fuel tank.
-Turbohoses manifolds and exhaust. Sounds wicked and shoots fire when you let off the gas if you're driving hard.
-CCW forged wheels, Toyo R888 315/30 rear, 255/35 up front. Mods to fit wider wheels.
-Upgraded drilled/slotted rotors and upgraded brake pads.
- Single piece carbon fiber race seats.
-Upgraded Kevlar disc clutch with unspring hub and lightened flywheel.
-Many mods for improved downforce, cooling and durability. Here are some of them:
Front splitter, fairings, larger custom intercooler, intercooler fans with an on/off switch on the dash, triple air ducting, gold wrapped insulation, larger radiator, modified fenders and camber for better grip and turning.
This car has a clean title, is currently registered and insured in CA and is driven about twice a week around town. It is smog exempt for life in CA, a process I never want to have to go through again!
If I were considering this car, here is what I would ask:
Q: I see an M400 for sale for $40k, why is this car worth so much more?
A: I started with a $49k Noble M400 as well. It had a few mods and seemed to be in pretty decent shape. Since that time, I've spent 5 years and more than $200k to create this amazing street/track monster. I said yes to every possible upgrade and mod because I wanted the best, most reliable, fastest Noble possible. If you want to unknowingly get into a very long and expensive project like I did, buy the cheaper car.
Q: If this is such a great car, why are you selling it?
A: I know it's a lousy excuse, but business is down and education expenses are up. If my kids get a scholarship, I reserve the right to buy this car back from you!
Q: What is wrong with the car? What may need to be done?
A: After 5 years with this car, I know pretty much every possible issue. Here is what remains: the carbon fiber spoiler is a little hazy. This happens over time. No issue with it, it just doesn't look brand new. The car does not have a clear bra. I just haven't put one on, but the car does not have any scratches, dings or scuffs. I tried to take a close up picture of the front so you could see how perfect the paint is. The car only has 1 key. It hasn't been a problem for me, so I haven't had another one made. A duplicate can be made for about $200. The tires have about 1/2 life left on them.
Q: Can I have the car inspected or see it in person?
A: Absolutely. As long as I know you're serious about it, I want you to see how good it really is. I drive it about twice a week and it's in perfect condition.
