We are proud to offer this terrific super low mileage 1998 Panoz AIV. Built new by Panoz in Braselton, GA near Road Atlanta, it was delivered in South Florida and then transported by its Danish designer owner to his home in the US Virgin Islands. We brought it back to the US Mainland last spring and subjected it to a major service.
The car is one of the last AIV Roadsters produced - they are amazingly well-engineered race cars for the street - aluminum monocoque construction with a reinforced fiberglass shell. AIV meant 'aluminum intensive vehicle'. Unlike the earlier roadsters which were not made this way, it also has the dual overhead cam Roush SVT V-8 pumping out over 300 brake horsepower. Lighter and more powerful than any but the very last cars built in 1999, this is an absolute hoot to drive. Guess why we kept it over the summer and enjoyed putting a few hundred miles on it!
With lines resembling both the AC Cobra and the Lotus Seven (what an amalgamation of concepts!) the Panoz is certainly the most sporting of just about any streetable open wheel roadster available. Unlike the Prowler, this actually has power to back up its sporting pretense and style!
The sound from those dual exhausts is intense!
The central fuel filler feeds an aluminum fuel cell that was just removed and cleaned with a new pump and sending unit.
All they'll see is taillights!
The paint appears almost completely original throughout, there are some minor flaws and touchups commensurate with age and good care.
Sleek styling from all angles!
All four corners wear new Continental high performance radials on the original Roush staggered wheels.
SVT Cobra brakes on the fronts bring this lightweight car to a quick stop!
The wheels are all straight and nearly flawless front and rear.
The cockpit of the Panoz is simple and straightforward - Ford switchgear, instrumentation and air conditioning make servicing simple and a Ford-sourced Tremec T-5 5-speed manual transmission handles the amazing power.

The carpeting, dash and console (with carbon fiber trim) is all in very good condition throughout.
Leather seats are supple and very comfortable. Even for a big guy like myself (6'2') the Panoz is a lot of fun. It's hard to find a real hot rod for big guys...
The luggage compartment is quite spacious, the roadster top and bows fit in the bag.
The Roush tool kit is original and complete.
Coil-over suspension front and rear is fully adjustable and makes for great handling.
So, let's take a peek under the hood. ..
On receiving the Panoz, we did a full tune-up and fluids and filters service - oil & filter, transmission and rear end oils, multiple cooling system flushes, new hoses, A/C repair and recharge, full brake flush, two rear calipers and pads, plugs and plug wires, new fuel filter, pump and level sending unit and a lot more. The car needed attention and it got it.
The builders signed the plate as they did on all the SVT Cobras.
The engine compartment is immaculate as a result!
Now this Panoz is ready for many more trouble-free miles.
If bad weather strikes, the removable top can be erected quickly...
The back window is clear and damage free.
There's just a little storage wear on the leading edge of the top and this in no way hampers its functionality.

This car is being sold by a licensed and bonded dealer of fine used automobiles located in Augusta (where the car is presently) and Savannah, Georgia. Please understand that this is an unusual 17 year old sports car hand-built by men and not gods - and is thus sold as-is, where-is with no implied or stated warranty or guarantee. As stated above in the listing, we have made a significant effort over the last few months and some to correct issues that we found with the car (at the end of the day, very few) and believe it to be in extremely good health based on many years of experience with other sports cars of all types over many years.
Full payment is due within seven days of auction close unless discussed with us in advance of your bid. Your winning bid is a contract to buy, not just to look or for first right of refusal; the only reason your contract would be null and void is if it was found that we willingly misrepresented the car in the above description. If you feel you need to inspect the car prior to purchase, please arrange and have this inspection done prior to placing a successful bid. Accepted forms of payment include a cleared certified cheque or wire transfer in the dealership's bank account, or cash in person on pickup (no cash via the mail, eBay!). Georgia residents MUST pay sales tax to the dealership in addition to your purchase price just as you would to any other automobile dealer. We require that paperwork be completed prior to or at the time of pickup (should you do this in person) in any case. We do not charge tax to out of state buyers as this is something you handle at the DMV or, naturally, other dealers in all 50 states.
Shipping or pickup must occur within fourteen days of auction close unless discussed with us in advance of your bid. We are happy to refer you to one of the high-quality open or enclosed collector car shipping companies that we use frequently in the normal course of business - and we cannot stress enough the importance of using such a carrier and not a random open transport broker or carrier you might find online, particularly as this is an unusual car in phenomenal original condition. This car is in our Augusta, GA location but can be transported to our Savannah dealership if this is more convenient for you. Likewise, for international buyers, we can carry the car to the port of Savannah, GA at no charge or to other ports for a nominal fee, though shipping beyond the U.S. border must be entirely arranged for and paid by you. Please contact us if you need any assistance with logistics and we'll be happy to help.
We reserve the right to cancel all bids and end the auction early at any time during the course of the sale should a sale occur outside of eBay as the car has been offered quietly through other channels over the past month. We typically do not do this at all and only when full payment has been received from such a buyer will the auction be pulled. You may rest assured that if and when the reserve price is met, the auction will run to the end, period.
Any legal action associated with this sale from either the buyer or the seller is to take place in the State of Georgia in the Chatham County Courthouse. The bidder/buyer further agrees that any legal action will be heard in Chatham County in the State of Georgia. All legal actions associated with this auction/sale will be governed by the laws of the State of Georgia and buyer agrees to be responsible for all legal costs including, but not limited to, court costs, expenses, attorney fees, cost of process service, and all other costs associated with the normal course of business.
