(The first Smart Car that was made in the
U.S.)Historic automobile
I have
an antiquity company in the middle of Texas. We specialize in fine antiques and
collectibles. Once in a while my
customers turn in a classic automobile or motorcycle.
This
is one of those items:
We received this beautiful
little antique automobile from a gentleman who adored it. There are very few of these cars left in the
world. This car can be a fantastic
addition to any museum or any advertisement piece for any corporation.
To show the true size of the
Crosley, I parked my Ford F-150 next to it. This will give you a better idea of its size.
One big surprise is the space
inside – I’m almost 6 foot tall and there is a surprisingly large amount of
space and it is comfortable for me to drive.
Please remember that this
antique little car can make a wonderful addition to your collection. But be very careful if you are going to race
it against a Ferrari or Lamborghini!!!!!!!
The car comes with its small original 4
cylinder engine (The CIBA -Crosley Cast Iron Block Assembly was a traditional
and more reliable engine utilizing a cast-iron block.) and its standard
transmission (3 speed).
When we received the car we
wanted it to run better so we sent it out to a specialist mechanic. He drained and cleaned the gas tank; put a
new carburetor, fuel pump, and the little girl purred like a sewing machine.
The car is absolutely an
attention getter especially when you reach 10 miles an hour: The little factory propeller above the front
bumper starts turning.
One thing you will not see in
the pictures is that the back glass has a small crack in it. The car has a brand new turn signal switch
(blinker) that is still in the box and goes with the car. The car also has many receipts and the
maintenance manual.
The car comes with the Owner’s
Manual and a clear Texas title. We are willing to deliver to a short distance in Texas for a reasonable
fee.
All the inspections must be
done before the auction closes.
Remember that this classic
car is 64 years old. Please remember
that things always look better in pictures. So you are more than welcome to come see it in person.
Your bid is your
contract. Please place bids only if you
are serious about buying the item. If you are the winning bid, you are entering
into a legal binding contract to purchase the item.
We
require a $300 non-refundable deposit immediately after the bidding
closes and the remaining balance within a week. Shipping is the responsibility of the buyer. The car will be sold as
is, with no warranty or guarantee.
We reserve the right to cancel any bid for
excessive negative feedback. And I may also
advertise it locally.
GOOD LUCK AND
HAVE FUN
