The car was purchased by my grandfather in the first half of the 1960's. According to research done by the Red Triangle, the original build record shows the car was supplied to the T. Baker & Sons and was initially used as a demonstrator and that the first owner was Miss M Messenger. The car then, according to the records, changed owner in approx 1966 to Mr Herridge. However, I have family photos from 1965 with the car in them so it appears the records must be inaccurate for some reason.
The car was given to my parents in 1984. My father intended to restore the car but has now finally decided that is never going to happen.
I now hope that the car can go to an Alvis enthusiast who intends to restore the car in an as authentic way as possible.
