This Packard 180 was first introduced in 1940 and was Packard's top of the line vehicle. This was their replacement for the V12 models which had been used in previous years. The new design received a 356cc inline 8-cylinder engine which was able to produce an astounding 160hp. This would be claimed as the strongest 8-cylinder in the market at that time and Packard had placed a firm foothold in the realm of performance and Luxury. With a 110, 120, 160 and 180 series, the body styles were all very similar, the 180 was esteemed as the most luxurious as it hosted exquisite interior detailing, including wood trim and vanities. Its lush carpets and superior fabrics fitted to its interior were presented in a prestigious manner. Out of all of the 1900 Packard 180’s built, not many were similar with the 10 various body styles that were offered for that model alone. Each one was custom to its own rare and unique specifications and although the custom body era was drawing to a close shortly after that year, Packard kept a line of catalogued custom offerings. Only 1900 Packard 180's were built in 10 various body styles. Each one is rare and unique to its own specifications. This original unmolested example of the 1940 Packard 180 Club Sedan, This was the high end of the automobile realm of its time! With sealed-beam headlights, dual side mounts and trunk rack, twin mirrored, rear mounted vanities with perfume bottles within and even lamb’s wool carpet, the quality and craftsmanship was certainly top of the line and holds itself to a high standard even to today. The original “Super Eight” I-8 3-speed manual transmission in great running order and has seen its maintenance completed regularly. Believed to only be 1 of 12 models left of the 1806 model, A SanFrancisco California car all it existence in great condition inside, outside and underneath never rusty no filler in the body straight and clean All worn aged or weak mechanicals have been addressed and replaced.
