Description:

Beautiful 1951 Packard Classic Touring Sedan Deluxe Trim factory options and low original miles.
Ready to show or as a daily driver! Stored in a heated garage and well taken care of. This vehicle was purchased at the Auburn-Cord-Duesenberg Festival and restored by my Dad and I several years ago. Its a beautiful example of a classic family touring sedan with more room than a city bus and more chrome than a terminator! Please check out the photos though they don't do it justice. (
NOTE:
The 1st picture is a stock photo to highlight the hood ornament and shows some pitting. The actual vehicle hood ornament and grill are not pitted. All other pictures are of the actual vehicle.)
Packard Blue Iridescent Exterior with lots of brilliant chrome (chrome fully restored). Fat white wall tires with chrome wheel rims and custom Packard chrome and enamel hubcaps. Factory Deluxe options include: Wheelbase (122 in or 3, 100 mm); 327 cubic inches (5.4 L)
Straight 8
8-cylinder in-line engine;
Ultramatic
automatic transmission (1st year for Packard); Power
Easamatic
brakes; heat; and radio.
Restoration: Restored all interior & exterior chrome trim plus hood ornament and tire rims/hubcaps; fully detailed engine and engine compartment with factory-matched paint; custom era-matched interior grey and rich burgundy upholstery with leather and chrome trim; restored Packard-marque steering wheel and trunk lid ornaments; mechanical and electrical restoration to fully operational ~ starts and drives like a dream. This vehicle has been driven occasionally during the summer months and in local parades, etc. It shows very nicely and always turns heads! As with any non-museum classic vehicle, there is minor wear to the paint (see pictures) and a few small scuff marks on the interior. However, this is a beautiful big steel beast with lots of attention grabbing chrome bling and it could be yours!
History:Produced by the Packard Motor Car Company of Detroit, Michigan during model years 1951 and 1952 and debuted as part of the fully redesigned Packard line, attributed to John Reinhart. Replacing the bulbous 1948-1950 Packards in the 22nd and 23rd Packard Series, Reinhart's High Pockets design was more formal than its predecessor, and would serve Packard until the end of the 1956 model year when true Packard production ceased.
All Packard 200 models came with twin horns, two sun visors, front and rear bumper guards, spare tire and jack set. Deluxe trim level included the appointments found on the standard models, and added chrome wheel rings, and turn indications as standard. White-wall tires and full-wheel covers were also extra.
Items which have since become standard to the auto industry since the late 1960s such as heater, radio, tinted glass, carpeting, etc., were all optional on the Packard, as well as other premium cars during that era. Packard also became the first car-maker to offer power-brakes in 1951. “Easamatic” as they were trademarked, were a product of Bendix and an exclusive to Packard.
This is a beautiful example of a true 1950s era Classic. Please feel free to bid and get a chance to win this fun car at a low reserve price!
