1939 Packard model 120 (1701) convertible sedan. Body 1297. Just removed from 35 years in dry storage. Very little is known about this Packard. Was purchased from the grandson of an elderly gent who had recently passed. The original title has been lost as well as the keys. A Bill of Sale will be provided to the new owner. Odometer reads 75, 731 which could very well be the actual mileage as the clutch, brake, and gas pedals have very little wear on them. I bypassed the ignition system by running battery voltage directly to the back of the coil to get it running. The straight eight cylinder engine does run with no smoke or weird noises. The fuel pump is presently fed from a gas can. I disconnected the fuel line at the fuel pump because after 35 years there has to be all kinds of garbage in the fuel tank. The tank should be removed and boiled out. The car needs restoration but could be a driver with a little work. The brake shoes are good but will need new wheel cylinders and a master. Brake lines/ hoses are all in good shape. Frame is in excellent condition, front floors and rear floors are all super solid (see photos). The floor of the trunk will need some sheet metal repairs (see photos). The body has the usual dings, dents, scrapes, and scratches. Some work has been done in the past most likely back in the 70's. The convertible top is in fantastic condition, no holes or rips. The upholstery is also in super nice shape (see photos). All the glass including the rear convertible top window are all in good shape with no cracks. The tires hold air and the tread are like new but they're old and I wouldn't trust them. The headlights have been converted to sealed beams at some point. The car is being sold as is what you see is what you get. Before placing any bids on this Packard please make sure it is ok to do so.
