1930 Packard Sedan Model 726
The 1930 Packard, straight eight, 5-passenger sedan was considered a very large and roomy car with an abundance of power in 1930. Even today this car can keep up with modern traffic and travel easily at highway speeds. Packard was known for their straight eight engines and even in 1930 a 4-speed transmission was used. Also the brake system was very advanced for its day and on the roads of today it still feels quite comfortable for its braking power.
Packard was known for its unusual color schemes and the colors on this car are extremely attractive. The elderly owner of this car used the car for his daughter’s weddings and shortly thereafter decided he was going to rebuild the carburetor. The carburetor was taken off several years ago and he has never replaced it so the car is currently not running, but was running when parked. The car was running well but as best as he recalls he was trying to repair the carburetor and choke. The car was a big show winner many years ago and frequently took home the top awards. It is very seldom that you see a 1930 Packard Eight 4-door sedan advertised. The private seller understands that because the car is not running that there will most likely be a discount factored in by bidders. However due to a personal situation he is not able to have somebody get the car running. It appears that this car will be a wonderful buy for somebody who is mechanically inclined and can make the necessary adjustments to the car to get it running. Again, it was running when it was put into storage but has not run for several years.
