1942 Packard Clipper

Packard Clipper (1942)
for sale

Price: US $2,800.00

Description:

This auction is for a 1942 Packard Clipper. This car was originally sold new in Spokane Washington and has spent it's entire life in the area. I have the Bill of Sale that was written by the original owner in 2007. The amazingly good original condition of this car is because it spent the majority of it's life in storage/inside. I got this car from my friends father's estate and he bought it from the original owner 8 years ago. It is the definition of a genuine Barn Find. Since it was built in 1942 it may be considered a Special Circumstance car. They did not build many vehicles during WWII and this car is fairly rare.
This car has been brought home and washed off and that is about it. The engine turns over like it should and the lights come on when a battery charger is hooked up to it. There is a strong chance that this car would fire right up with a weekend of tinkering but I have not tried yet, and cannot say for sure. The clutch engages and disengages smoothly. The brake pedal goes right to the floor and the brakes don't work at all.
The body on this car is really, really straight. There is only one small dent in the entire car underneath the left rear tail light. There is absolutely no rust (other than patina and surface rust) on the exterior body panels whatsoever. The chrome and stainless trim is all there and extremely straight. The trunk handle is broken (I have the broken piece) and the drivers rear door does not want to open. The passengers front door has a broken hinge pin at the bottom.
The seats have the original cloth on them but everything inside is old and a bit musty. The mice seem to have been nesting above the headliner and it needs to be taken out. The rubber floor mat is not good. The car had a radio and it is still there along with all the factory knobs etc. This appears to be an 80, 000 mile original car. The floor boards and trunk floor are scaly and rusty and feel thin in places. The only place that is rusted through is on the passengers front floor board as shown in the picture. I have not inspected under the car.
The tires had air in them when I got it and seem to hold air well. There are 1963 Washington License Plates on it and also there are a much older set of Green Washington License Plates still bolted underneath them.
We were able to find the Bill of Sale but not the title. I have had the Sheriff inspect the car and they have issued a junk vehicle affidavit (shown in pictures) which may be used to legally transfer vehicle ownership. I have an appointment with the State Patrol on Friday, June 26th to have it inspected for a standard title. There is a 3 year waiting period in Washington State for a lost title.
Will sell internationally and am willing to help communicate with your transport truck and help them load the vehicle. I am not offering shipping though.
If you have any questions please don't hesitate to call. Bret (5o9) 220-eight, six8four
