Available for purchase is a 1947 Packard 7 passenger Sedan, body by Henney. Car is nearly 100% original with some touch up and maintenance items done over the years. The body is in excellent condition and presents very well. There were small repairs done near each headlight and on the left side of the car. There are two spots where paint has been polished through over the years. The chrome is very good with the rear bumper being re-chromed at some point. The interior of the car is in excellent original condition with a small tear in the front seat on the drivers side. The dash and steering wheel are perfect. All gauges and lights function, even the clock works.
Under the hood the car remains original except for maintenance items such as belts, hoses, plugs and wires. The carburetor was recently rebuilt and a new battery installed.
Mechanically the brakes were just serviced with new wheel cylinders installed and a professionally rebuilt/sleeved master cylinder.
Below is an excerpt provided by the long time previous owner of the car...
I purchased this 1947 Packard model 2126 Custom Clipper (7) Passenger Sedan in 1978. It has the highest serial number recorded to still be in existence today, of the mere 1600 produced for the 1947 model year. The coachwork was by the Henney Motor Company of Freeport, Illinois, a major producer of hearses, ambulances and limousines. This car was built on Packard's 148 inch wheelbase chassis with Packard's 356 cubic inch nine (9) main bearing straight eight (8) engine.
The car is still in very good original condition and the original mechanics, black nitrocellulose lacquer paint and wool broadcloth upholstery with its tight fit, fine stitching and straight seams, still reflect the quality factory craftsmanship even after 49 years of usage. A little spot body work was done by a previous owner many years ago over each front fender grille and in front of each rear fender. If you look closely you can see where the spot paint was blended into the original for each of the body repairs. The rear bumper has been re-chromed.
The Packard Custom Clippers with the 2126 long wheelbase chassis are recognized as official classic cars by the Classic Car Club of America.
While this car may represent financial sadness to the person who special ordered it from Packard, and grief to those who rode in it to a loved ones funeral, it has certainly represented many years of enjoyment to Mr. Davis who owned it from 1947 to 1968; to the Cincinnati doctor who owned it from 1968 to 1978; and to me and my family. I sincerely thank the previous owners for keeping it so original and for taking such good care of it over the years

It would be very difficult to find a 1947 Packard as original and as clean as this car. It is a CCCA full classic, eligible for shows and tours. It runs and drives very well with virtually every feature and light working on the car.
For questions please contact Mike at cincyboathouse@gmail.com. The car is advertised locally and the listing may be ended if the car is sold.
