for sale

Price: US $4,000.00

Description:

Reluctantly, I'm offering my 1950 Packard Deluxe for sale. I have just moved and don't have the room to keep it, so it has to go at NO RESERVE! This car is a true survivor. It's in decent shape for the year and not needing a whole lot to make it a dependable driver. It came from an estate in southern Wisconsin where it had been stored for some time. The car is quite solid and the only rust I noticed, was in the rocker panels-especially on the right side, where the panel may need to be replaced and a little on the door bottoms, but surface rust.. The car does start, run, drive and stop, but it will need some repairs to be reliable and safe. It appears to have had some repaint in its distant past-nothing fresh. The interior is useable for a driver, but is showing its age and could be redone. It has wide whitewalls with decent tread. The brakes could use a bleeding, as you need to pump them up. The fuel pump should be replaced as it does leak from the vent. The carb could stand a cleaning at the same time. It has a 327 c.i straight eight. I pulled the spark plugs and I don't think that I have ever seen an engine that was burning so clean. Get that fuel pump changed and the carb cleaned and it will purr like a kitten! It has the Ultramatic transmission for easy cruising. Just to be clear, this is what it needs:A new or rebuilt fuel pump.Carb needs cleaning.Rocker panels need work.Drivers side window has a crack.Vent windows have some fogging.Interior could use some work. There is a hole in the muffler.Needs some work on wiring for the taillights.Gas gauge is inop (wiring?) Of course it's not perfect. It's 66 years old, so expect to do some tinkering. It's a good example of a car that was a premium car in its day. Top of the line, I would think. Please consider that I think many of the cars are overpriced these days, because of the big auctions, I think. I am starting this as low as I can go and we'll see what happens. Again, there is NO RESERVE! I do expect you to be a serious bidder. You are bidding to own the car. There are no guarantees and no refunds. I may consider some trades, but would prefer cash. Good luck to all bidders. The car must be picked up at my home in central Wisconsin. Any shipping arrangements are up to the buyer and the car must be paid in full before shipping, of course.
