Packard (1953)

For Sale is a 1953 Packard that's been stored in a heated barn since 1976. I bought the car from a widow who's husband purchased the car in 1976. She told me when he bought it, she drove it home and parked it in the barn and there it sat until I took it out a month ago.
I oiled the cylinders, removed the gas tank and had it cleaned, and replaced the fuel pump, plugs, ignition wires and battery and it fired up. I replaced the 4 wheel cylinders and front rubber brake lines. The car runs, drives and stops. It does have a transmission leak when the car's running. It's probably a seal that dried out. Other than that the transmission shifts and operates fine.
The body is in great shape, it was repainted at some point. No signs of any rot, there are a few small bubbles on the rockers. The floors and chassis are very solid, surface rust only. The tires are old and dry rotted but do hold air. The interior is in very good shape, the seats have seat covers over the original material, I don't know if they've been on since new or not. The new owner can remove them to see. The jack and spare are in the trunk, as well as extra fender skirts.
If the winning bidder needs the car transported, my son owns Boston Car Carriers, serving areas east of the Mississippi River, he can give you a great price.
