The silver background of the 1926 South Dakota license plate was notorious for oxidizing to a reddish brown, and most of them which have survived to this day have that issue. However, on this plate, there is still nice color contrast after 90 years.There is no restoration of any kind on this item. Condition is only Good, as there are small spots of surface rust throughout, and normal aging and weathering.
