Two plates for one money! All original pair of 1938 Kansas passenger car license plates, in excellent- condition. White on black colors. This plates are straight, with no serious damages at all. No bends, deep scratches, tears, cracks, deep rust or tarnish. There are a few tiny, light scratches from use, and a few light shelf storage marks. No extra holes, or other serious damages are seen. Very nice presentation pieces. Not bad for being 78 years old. These Kansas plates from the 1930"s are difficult to find in nice condition, because they became faded, tarnished and rusted so easily over the years. I purchased this set of Kansas plates in 1980, at an antique store in Chino Valley, AZ. They were inside an envelope, with the paper still between the two plates. The paper stuck to the back of one of the plates. It appears that they were only used for one year, then placed back into the paper wrap and envelope they originally came in from the license plate plant. There are bolt marks on the top two boltholes on both plates. These plates are embossed, and are steel plates.
Please see the photos of the front and rear of these plates. The plates are clean and still have most of their original shine.
