This is a 1940 Oregon motorcycle license plate, number 1. It is made of steel, measures 4-3/4 x 7-1/4 inches and is painted blue on white. It appears to have been shellacked at one time making it black on yellow. The reverse side is olive in color.
There is some surface rust in the upper left quadrant. There"s a slight dent above the 40.
