1943, 1944 & 1945 ILLINOIS Fiberboard (3x) License Plates tags
Here is a set of all three fiberboard plates from Illinois (IL). Illinois issued fiberboard plates from 1943 until 1948. The 1944 and 1945 have the same number, 26 971. Each plate has some defect, like the 1943 has a small nail hole near the center, while the 1944and 1945 have extra mounting holes. The gloss on each plate is very nice. Since these are only 5 digit plates they measure only 9 X 5 ¼ but the 1945 has been trimmed down to 8 ½ X 4 5/8.
