This plate is in all original condition with no restoration or repair. There is a small extra hole at the top center. In the long 103-year history of state-issued South Dakota license plates, there were only a few years in which motorists were issued just a single plate, (and not a pair). The 1945 plate was the first single issued by the state, making this tag a rather scarce item. The winner of this auction will also receive a free bonus: it is a facsimile color copy of a 1944 South Dakota windshield sticker. I have never been fortunate enough to own a genuine one of these rare "44 stickers, but this color copy came in the box when I bought the run many years ago, and so it is included along with the plate. This is a photo film color copy, and it dates from the 1970s.This old license plate is offered today at NO RESERVE and low $4.99 Priority Mail shipping in the US, which is actually LESS than what the US Postal Service charges to ship. Most sellers charge more for Priority Mail, but we like to keep our rates low, hoping that you will keep this in mind when bidding. For shipping outside the US, contact us for price. YES, we combine shipping costs: if you win more than one auction on the same day, please do not pay until we send you an invoice with the shipping discount applied. IMPORTANT: We only ship to the approved address. Please make sure your shipping address is correct and available.
