I bought these a very long time ago as DMV clear to put on my MG TC, which I never did. After I sold the car I called DMV, and they verified that they were clear. I sold them on but the buyer said he went to DMV and they said the number was taken. I refunded his money, called DMV, and they said they were clear. When I pressed them they said wait a minute, yes, the number is taken. As these are obviously the real plates then either DMV is all screwed up (imagine that) or someone took the number as a personal plate and had some fake period plates made. In any case, my loss, these are up for auction at no reserve!
