Most 1947 plates were steel. However, toward the end of the year they made a batch of aluminum plates as they were gearing up for the 1948 aluminum plates. Please contact the Registy to determine if this number is YOM usable on your vintage car. Massachusetts issued single plates for 1945, 1946, 1947, 1953 and 1954.
