First of all this plate complies with Ebay’s rules since it has expired over 3 years ago (both year AND month are considered) and is not a design that can currently be used on the road. This is sold for collection, display or craft purposes only, not for a vehicle.
Secondly, this IS the plate that you will receive – not one with a different serial number or “similar to” the one scanned.
This is a 1949 Rear Trailer base. The condition is Good, refer to the picture. This plate does have some issues -- there is a small bend just under the state name and year -- the paint is fairly nice. But then again who of us who have also been around 66 years do not also have a few flaws.

You might ask are Illinois plates rather difficult to find: (1) the population base is a robust at 12.8 million (2) there are 750 vehicles registered per 1,000 residents (3) they issue plates in pairs (4) therefore Illinois plates are 4.95% of the plates issued in the US each year.
