You are bidding on a vintage 1950 NEW YORK license plate! Slightly larger, medium-weight tag has a classic jet-black base with bright golden yellow embossed lettering and rims. 100% ORIGINAL, with NO TOUCH-UPS, and decent paint gloss. Registered in New York County, including only the borough of Manhattan in New York City.  Includes the EMPIRE STATE nickname embossed at bottom!
Plate is STRAIGHT and lies FLAT, with ABSOLUTELY NO bends, NO EXTRA HOLES and almost NO surface rust. Base surface on both sides (but especially on back of plate) is a bit rough from a film of old surface rust that has been cleaned off, but has eaten away much of the gloss on the black paint on both sides. Yellow lettering, however, is still bright and strong, and metal and paint are SOLID. Still displays fantastically on your vintage "50s auto or your den or man-cave wall!
