1951 Tennessee License Plate Pair / Set -Beautiful Original Unrestored Condition

Pair of original, unrestored 1951 Tennessee passenger car license plates in Excellent Condition. This pair also has an interesting number combination.
Owned by a family who removed their plates after each year and stored them in boxes in their garage. This family owned three vehicles and did this for all three vehicles from the late 1940s through the 1970s. Also have a few 1920s and 1930s singles owned by this family.
The University of Tennessee-Knoxville won the Cotton Bowl in January 1951 and the state legislature passed a bill to use the college"s colors, orange and white, on the license plates which were issued in April of 1951.
Do not have all years in pairs, but in VG to Excellent condition singles.
Tennessee utilized shape of the State license plates from 1936 through 1956.
In 1957 the U.S. Government and the states agreed to a standard sized 6x12 plate for all automobile and truck license plates. This change also assisted the automobile manufacturers in designing bumpers and license plate indentations for their vehicles.
