Vintage 1955 TN FARM LICENSE PLATE 22 f/2-588. State Shape Weakley County Tennessee Red letters on white backgrund.
Extra photos in sections for better condition viewing. Has some rust mostly at ends and bottom with extra hole in center. Should be visible in photos.
What you cant see in photos is the plate has a convex bend one end to other (Bristol to Memphis) which is not a kink but even bend across meaning it does not lay flat but if you lay it flat and measure the center at ends it would be about 1/4 or little more rise off flat surface.
Actually I see no signs it was mounted by any of the 4 provided holes but it looks like someone tied it to a large fence or telephone pole bent it to fit and plugged it in center with a large caliber bullet. IF they were trying to center the plate it was a goood job!!.. Hole is still peeled up on back. I am just guessing but plate probably mounted in cracks and had to be curved to fit?? ..Thats just my idea. IF they ment to shoot the farm truck it was dead center perfect!!...
