These plates have all original paint which has still retained a little bit of gloss after nearly 60 years. This was the last year that Vermont license plates were made in the smaller size of 6 x 11. Please see the close-up photo for detail. The holes just to the right of the 56 are not extra holes, they are part of the original design of the plate.
