Here is a TERRIFIC, vintage 1965 base NEW MEXICO passenger license plate! Medium-weight tag has a bright yellow reflective base with bright red embossed lettering. 100% ORIGINAL, with NO TOUCH-UPS, and STILL has superb paint gloss! Includes the state nickname Land of Enchantment at the top and the Zia sun symbol near the center. A 1971 renewal sticker is attached at the bottom right. Registration is from Grant County, in southwestern New Mexico, including Silver City, Hurley, Bayard, and Santa Clara.
Plate is STRAIGHT and lies FLAT with ABSOLUTELY NO bends, NO EXTRA HOLES and NO surface rust. Some scattered paint chips, with stains to metal, mostly on back, as shown. There is a tiny trace of stubborn tar at the very bottom edge that could be cleaned away. Metal and paint are ABSOLUTELY SOLID. Displays fantastically on your vintage "60s or "70s auto or your den or man-cave wall! In great shape AND nearly 50 years old! Plate you see (registration 8-14226) is the exact plate you"ll receive.
