Massachusetts allows vehicles 41.50 years or older to register with year of manufacture license plates (plates previously used in Massachusetts) instead of antique plates. If no plate was issued in a particular year, a plate issued in the previous year may be used. Only one plate is required and it must be approved by the Massachusetts RMV.
