You are bidding on an SUPERB, vintage 1965 base NEW MEXICO license plate! Medium-weight, thicker steel tag has a golden yellow base with fire-engine red embossed lettering and rims (back is unpainted). 100% ORIGINAL, with NO TOUCH-UPS, and still SUPER paint gloss! Includes the Zia sun symbol for New Mexico embossed near the center, and the LAND OF ENCHANTMENT state nickname at top! There are renewal stickers all the way up through 1971 at the bottom right. Registered in Curry County, in eastern New Mexico, including Clovis, Texico, Grady, and Melrose.
Plate is STRAIGHT and lies FLAT, with absolutely NO BENDS, NO EXTRA HOLES, and NO SURFACE RUST. There are a few minor paint chips, as shown. Red lettering is strong and stands out well against yellow base, and plate metal is TOTALLY SOLID. Mounts fantastically on your vintage "60s or "70s auto or your den or man-cave wall.
