Nothing like finding old items, never used or very lightly used, in storage! (I have found a number of license plates that would bring back memories for someone.) This well preserved plate from 1974 has some very minor signs of age, a scuff or two, some dulling and light imperfections to finish as a result of age (40+ years), much better condition than most collectable plates of this age.
