For many years, I tried to assemble a low-number run of DC license plates, (three digits or lower). I found that the most difficult decade for them was the 1990s. In fact, I had almost completed the entire run from the mid-1920s up through the 1980s, before I even got my first plate which was dated later than 1992.These low-numbered plates from the 2000s are even tougher to find, and it is a mystery to me as to why. It might be because DC VIP plates of three digits or less are now given a totally new design each year. This one has the number in a box, and staggered DC seals on either side. (The number is also a palindrome, if you happen to like that sort of thing.)Condition on this plate is only Good due to dulling of the thin reflectorized surface, which is a common issue with Washington DC license plates. This plate is totally flat and silk screened, and not embossed.This item is 100% original, with no restoration of any kind.
