This license plate is all original. It is a 1929 Illinois plate and has lots of wear but is still solid, sturdy and readable.You can still see that the numbers were RED and the background was BLACK and I believe the edge was trimmed in RED.There is enough of the coloring left to see how it was originally painted.The number series, state and year is:40-718 ILL 29It measures approximately 12 x 4.5It has a circular hole at each corner and 2 oblong ones at the top edge.Neat old plate for the collector, man cave or garage.
